Halloween Safety Tips for Dogs and Cats

It’s finally Fall, although it sure doesn’t feel that way outside on our dog walks and runs in Louisville and Lafayette, Colorado so far this year.  It has been over 80 degrees for the last few days!! Regardless, Halloween is coming and as fun as it is for us humans,  Halloween can be a scary and overwhelming time for our dogs and cats.  I was walking a golden retriever puppy in her neighborhood the other day and someone had a recording of scary noises running in their front yard. Poor Clover was terrified and jumped away with her tail tucked:(  Then a few houses down she tried to eat one of the Halloween decorations in another person’s yard.  So as much as we enjoy the decorations and the treats, it is really important that we keep our pets safe and comfortable through Halloween.

I have attached a couple articles below that have good information on what treats are dangerous for our pets and how to keep our pets from being scared and anxious on Halloween night.
